My name is Cihan Toprakci, an independent web developer based in Annemasse, ten minutes from Geneva. I build sites and applications for the self-employed, tradespeople, practices and shops who want a polished online presence without getting lost in overly complicated tools.

What I love about this work is taking an idea that is still hazy and turning it into something concrete, clear, that truly looks like the person sitting across from me. I handle everything, from the design to the final screen, and I stay reachable once the site is live, because a project does not end on delivery day.

The story

From a first line of code to a dozen projects.

I wrote my first lines of code in 2025, and I was hooked straight away. What was meant to be a simple curiosity became a real passion within a few weeks. I loved that feeling of starting from a blank page and watching, little by little, something alive appear on the screen, exactly as I had imagined it.

Very quickly, I understood how I wanted to learn: by building for real. Not by copying tutorials you forget the next day, but by throwing myself into concrete projects. I get things wrong, I work out why, and I start over until it is clean. It is more demanding, but it is the only way to truly remember things and to know how to do them on my own, the day a client is counting on me.

To give all of this structure, I train in web development at MyDigitalSchool, in Annecy. That is what pushes me to build my skills quickly and to keep my eye on quality rather than on quick fixes. Rigour, attention to detail, the wish to do things properly: these are not words I trot out to sound good. They are what keeps me at the work, project after project.

Today, I have already delivered a dozen real projects, from a simple showcase site to a complete piece of software. Each one taught me something new, and each one makes me a little faster and more sure-footed for the next. If I chose this work, it is for that precise moment when a site takes shape and the person across from me finally recognises themselves in it.

My first clients

Two sides of the border, one and the same standard.

My first clients put their trust in me on both sides of the border. On one side, a human resources consultancy in France, which took a chance on me for its professional site when I was just starting out. On the other, a Swiss heating and air conditioning company, for whom I was able to work in francs and without VAT.

That trust changes everything. You do not work the same way when you know someone is counting on the result. It is what took me from someone who was learning to someone able to deliver, from the very first conversation through to launch.

I live and work in Annemasse, ten minutes from Geneva. I cross the border like so many people in the region: it is part of the scenery. It gives me a foot in each market, and the right instinct for both.

For my clients in France, I bill in euros, plain and simple. For my clients in French-speaking Switzerland, I bill in francs, without VAT, which makes for a lighter net price. Working on both sides of the border is not a line on a map for me, it is my daily life, and it is what lets me speak the right language to each of them.
